University of Pittsburgh students are among the nation's best when it comes to passing the Certified Management Accounting (CMA) exam, according to a recent study and article in the March 2019 issue of Strategic Finance, a monthly magazine published by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA).
Pitt was ranked at the top or near the top in three categories.
In the "U.S. Schools with the Highest CMA Exam Pass Rates by Region" category, Pitt ranked 2nd in the Northeast region, with an overall pass rate of 90 percent.
In the "Highest CMA Exam Pass Rates for First-Time Takers" category, Pitt ranked 4th, with 89 percent of first-time exam takers passing.
In "Highest Pass Rates of U.S. Endorsed Programs (programs endorsed by the Institute of Management Accountants)" category, Pitt's overall pass rate of 90 percent ranked 1st.
The University of Pittsburgh’s 90-percent CMA exam pass rate is especially impressive given that the overall pass rate is 58 percent.
